SOURCECORP, Incorporated (NASDAQ: SRCP) a leading provider of business process outsourcing solutions and specialized high-value consulting services has been awarded a five year, estimated $31 million, contract from the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). NOAA is an agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce.
NCDC is the world's largest active archive of weather data. NCDC produces numerous climate publications and responds to data requests from all over the world. NCDC also operates the World Data Center’s for Meteorology and Paleoclimatology under the auspices of the World Meteorological Organization. The contract is a vital component of the Climate Database Modernization Program (CDMP) whose mission is to digitize global climate and environmental data and make it easily accessible via the Internet. The CDMP program is an example of a successful government project working with private industry to preserve valuable climate and environmental records. Work will be performed at SOURCECORP's secure data processing centers in Eastern Kentucky.
